I just walked back into the office after a meeting and I see Amine (one of our top rental brokers) sitting at his desk, dumbfounded.

He looks at me and says, “James you wouldn’t believe me if I told you”. Naturally I pressed him - not exactly hard. 

Amine had a landlord interview setup for his clients and the property manager of a 6 Bed on Mission Hill. So Amine arrives early catches up with the Property Manager and they wait for his clients (6 College kids; mixed group of girls and guys) to show up - and if all goes well sign leases.

These interviews are like job interviews. Show up clean, smiling and act accordingly so you can get your party pad for the next year.

This group, as Amine put it, was far from normal. They walk in all looking like they just rolled out of bed. One in a tutu and 3 of them BAREFOOT. Not sneakers with holes in them, or sandals; they were barefoot walking around Mission Hill.

Guess what? They got the apartment!!! After walking away I notice Amine throw his feet on his desk, smile, and say, “another satisfied client”. Yes he was barefoot.

I smell another Summer trend on the way!
