I’m Back!
So it’s been a while since I wrote a post for the Boston Real Estate Blog. Never a good sign when your boss emails you saying “Hey, I haven’t seen anything on your blog lately!”. Gulp!!!
My apologies. I’ve been working on some huge projects and I tend to get a little excited and focused when that happens. Here are some quick thoughts that have popped into my head the past couple of days.
“If you need a deal when it comes to apartments, check out Brighton. Our rental database (New England’s largest, at 50,000 and counting - I know shameless plug) shows an awful lot of vacancies in the area”
“South Boston needs more rentals. Sooner or later someone is going to try and condo the L Street Bath House. Geeez come on seems all the people vacating Brighton want Southie apartments. Our inventory never seems to last down there.”
“The Neponset River Valley is up and coming? So say the Boston Globe. I guess waterfront is waterfront even if industrial waste was flowing freely a couple of years ago in the river system. At least it never caught on fire like the Charlese.”
“I’m thinking of starting a new charity organization called the Support a Plow Driver Fund. That’s right! For a few dollars a day you, too, can support a Plow Driver as he waits for snow or spring - whichever comes first. Next year’s gala will be held at the Dunkin Doughnuts in Allston Village on Ground Hogs Day.”
“Looks like Manny is staying in Boston. His Ritz penthouse is off the market. To bad! Just when a suitable buyer shows up in town. That’s okay, though. I’m sure Daisuke Matsuzaka will have plenty of options to choose from”.
“I can’t wait for the new Apple store to open in the Back Bay! I bet all the historical buffs who hate the modern design will be the first to shop there. I-Pods, I-Tunes, I-Phones… I’mThere!”
“Beacon Hill and Governor Patrick are battling a fairly large deficit this year, and yet a Legislator files a bill proposing to grant $10,000.00 to every new college graduate to buy a home and offset high housing costs. Perfect.”
“The catch is it’s in Monopoly money and instead of Park Place you can only live on Park Drive in the Fenway, so nothing will really change! Here’s a better idea. Relax some zoning regulations and allow builders you know to build, then housing costs will go down. These new graduates can explain supply and demand to the legislator who thought this one up.
Okay that’s enough for one night. There will be regular postings from now on out!
